The Curious Goose – Decorative Country Goose Ornament

There is something about this goose that makes you stop and look again. Perhaps it is the long neck rising so gracefully from that wonderfully round body, or the tiny dark eye that gives the impression it has spotted something you haven’t. Its beak points forward with quiet determination. It seems to be on its way somewhere, although it is in no hurry to tell you where.

The shape is beautifully smooth, with no fussy detail to distract from its character. The broad, curved body sits beneath that tall neck in a way that is just a little unexpected, just a little peculiar, and completely charming. Its pale, softly mottled finish looks as if it has gathered the colours of stone, morning mist and the edge of a country pond. The colouring varies slightly from bird to bird, so each has its own appearance.
