Nature’s Autumn Pumpkins

You might have plenty of pumpkins for autumn. You probably don’t have one quite like this.

Imagine walking into the garden one morning and finding that nature has been at work overnight. She has made two pumpkins: one round and generous, the other tall and wonderfully unusual. She has shaped their sides into deep, flowing curves and left little diamond impressions across the pale surface, like a pattern you notice only when you come close.

Then she has gone to the oak tree for the finishing touch. She has chosen a slender branch, a few leaves just beginning to turn rose and gold, little berries and acorns still in their cups. She has wound them around each pumpkin as a garland—lightly, carefully, leaving room for the beautiful shapes beneath to show. Finally, she has given each one a dark stem with a character all its own.

Now picture bringing them inside. The round one sits on your table, and you find yourself turning it to see where the oak branch leads. The tall one stands beside it, making the pair feel as lovely together as they looked in your imagination. They have that familiar warmth of pumpkins gathered from a country garden, but there is something unexpectedly graceful about their pale colour, sculpted pattern and delicate garlands.

Perhaps that is why they feel so special. They let you bring autumn home without leaving its beauty at the door—the oak leaves, the acorns, the pleasure of noticing how thoughtfully nature puts things together. If you request delivery to be left in a safe place, this is done at your own risk. Where the courier provides proof of delivery, we are unable to offer a replacement or refund for missing parcels.
